It lies approximately 30 minutes (30 km) from Storms River Village, 150 km from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), and a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Addo Elephant National Park.
Eersterivierstrand lies just beyond the eastern end of the Garden Route. The Garden Route is generally defined as the 300 km stretch of coast from Witsand in the Western Cape to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape; Eersterivierstrand is 30 km east of Storms River, in the Tsitsikamma region. That makes the village an eastern gateway to the route for travellers arriving from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).
